Lester’s handler wrote the following.
“Lester was a met bred dog from the Xavier litter, but worked in City of London.
Lester and his handler PC Nichols were due to transfer to the Met together.
Lester literally worked his last city shifts and the next day whilst out walking with his handler sadly passed away.
Lester was such a gentleman, one of the nicest police dogs you could meet! He would love to be fussed, even by small kids and so kindly natured! But not to the criminals, he knew who he had to bring his police dog side out for!
Lester didn’t have a bad bone in his body! He loved to play, chase a ball or with other dogs, he will be greatly missed by us all.”
